Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity

.In the beginning, Love, Peace and Unity reigned in Ipoti-Ekiti. As seen in this picture, the Olupoti of Ipoti, HRM Oba Ajayi Ajiguna and his Chiefs joined the Obalaaye (Owa Ijumu) of Ejiyan HRM Oba Joshua Aboloyinjo Olajide, to celebrate the OSOKIN-A Festival. This is what most of us remember...a people united in purpose for peace and development of Ipoti not its fragmentation. Let's work assiduously towards unification because herein lies our strength. We all agreed to live together; that's why Ipoti survived. Need to go back to the drawing board to correct obvious misrepresentations for future generations.
Ipoti a gbe wa o.

Celebrating with a Prince

Celebrating with a Prince, my childhood friend, Prince Asekunowo Olanrewaju
Happy Ipoti Day 2016 Celebrations!

Day 3 of Ipoti day celebrations: Indoor games-Ayo and Ludo games.

Day 3 of Ipoti day celebrations: Indoor games-Ayo and Ludo games.

The CICERO of our land ALAGBA EBUN AROWOSEGBE.

HIN KU AYEYE ODUN OJO UBI ALAGBA EBUN AROWOSEGBE
The arrival of this august day of celebration has long been my worry, not of negative thought but of whom will deem qualify to pay back the good deeds, commitment, dedication and selfless service being rendered by this great Cicero of our Land, definitely no one....taken up this responsibility would have been my greatest joy and the greatest achievement in the field of writing but the more I desire, the more I see myself as a disqualified candidate of the task of shouldering the load of putting up a benefiting write up to celebrate our Cicero not of Esa-Oke this time but that of Ipoti-Ekiti, Ebun Arowosegbe linage could not be reliably link to Ikene of Ogun state, we would have taught that the Oratory blood of Chief Obafemi Awolowo flows in his vein neither could we link his source to Ile Ibinu (Benin City) which would have made us think of Hon. Patric , No!!! that is not even possible for his write ups are easy, enjoyable, understandable that need not the latex version of Oxford dictionary or a professor of linguistic from university of Lagos to interpret.. we are proud of you for your source is traceable and a rare community man you are of Ule ASA, How I wish am more equip with a better gadget to have enough time to dig deep into your personality..but the bigger boys of osodi proofed more smarter than I think I do...the more I think of myself qualified , the more limitations I encounter, the little age on my own side is my first limitation, this has undoubtedly brought a stumbling block to the strength I erroneously presumed to have acquired in course of writing, for a story can only be best told by a real witness of the event to be narrated, telling about you would only amount to narrating the story of when my father was 10 years old and when my mother was still innocently moving around the house with just a pant, a baby need not be told that such story of mine would gallantly amount to nothing but ordinary feeble full of hearsays and lies.. I may not know you in person but your personality I do know in diaspora, my 8 years of personal relationship with the Arowosegbes has unquestionably brought out the best in me..may be I should start by telling how I was given a letter by our Mummy in lagos Mrs Oni (mummy Amuwo-Odofin) to Mr Arowosegbe now Dr Arowosegbe (Professor in view by God grace ) of University of Ado- Ekiti now Ekiti state University..on getting to Unad I headed to the department of plant science i was referred to without giving in to the university side attraction and met the person named in the letter, I was warmly welcome and even invited to his house where I was entertained like a prince of England being welcome in the white house of the United State to be soon occupied by Donald trump the once rejected candidate of the Republican, my plan was to SLEEP OVER, I already spent a semester close to the count of 4 months before I knew i was not just passing a night but already spent over 4 moon, they seemed not comfortable with my decision to move to the school environment for they never complain for staying with them, I looked fresher than a student during my staying with them for there was no noticeable difference from being at home, I eat Ubepe as if I was plucking it at Ugbo Ojumu (Oko Awodo), the compound is full of that and banana as well, I became part of the family and I was even taken as the first born of the house even though they never knew about my existence prior the day we met...the house was my refuge every weekend throughout my 4 years stay in Unad even till now and there I was opportuned to meet the celebrant of today during the lunching of Mrs Arowosegbe first Album titled OMO ALASE though I was not aware of his personality for if I was aware I would have jumped at him..Sir, writing about you would be an attempt which could not be differentiated from that health record officer with just a year of work experience trying to prescribe a drug to a sick medical Doctor of Over 20 years of professional experience, yielding to such prescription would be suicidal...you are a personality to be emulated for your writing prowess challenged me that if a financial and credit management expert of your caliber could be this perfect then the young and fresh blood flowing in me could learn and know more than CREDIT THE INCOME AND DEBIT THE EXPENSES for life is more than principle of double entry even though it is true that everything that have a debit entry must have a corresponding credit entry. Sir, on this special day of yours i wish you nothing But the best in life and you will continue to enjoy the goodness of God in your life and that of your family both nuclear and extended ..I call on good people to join me in celebrating the CICERO of our land. HBD sir.

The man, Mr Kola Arigbede was born on March 2, 1957 in Paakuta Compound, Ipoti Ekiti. His parents are Pa David Arigbede (of blessed memory) and Mrs. Felicia Omojade Arigbede. Young Kola started his Elementary Education at Seventh-day Adventist Primary School at kindergarten (Jeleoisimi) to primary one with Mrs. Rachael Ogunsola who was a teacher at the school while he was with his late grandmother Yeye Ogunsola at Ile Olomo, Ipoti Ekiti.

He left Ipoti Ekiti with Late Cannon Famewo to Erin – Ijesha in 1969 where he was prepared for his Secondary School Education. He went to Doherty Memorial Grammar School, Ijero – Ekiti in 1970 and graduated in 1975. He was at Aramoko – Ekiti as a primary School teacher for six months and later went to C.A.C. Teachers College, Efon Alaaye in 1976 for one year training and graduated in 1977. He was posted to Usho, Owo in Ondo State as a teacher. He left Usho later in the year and joined BAGCO Manufacturing Company in 1978 as Quality Control Clerk. He later in the year resigned from BAGCO and joined International Bank for West Africa (IBWA) which later became AFRIBANK.
In 1979, he resigned from the International Bank for West Africa and went to Yaba College of Technology for his OND General Art (Ordinary National Diploma) programme and graduated in 1981. A moderate philanthropist, Mr. Arigbede is vastly experienced in youth mentoring. He is a man of ideas who easily blends with the times so much that he can compete favourably in any youth-related pastime. He is at home with any of the social media tools as anyone can be. He is also a community man who thinks nothing of making enormous personal sacrifice – physically and financially – to ensure the development of home and working environment. This characteristic is partly why he was chosen as the Chairman of his community at Ipoti-Ekiti (Ipoti Community Development Council), Ekiti State.
Although he is extremely hardworking and a chronic trouble-shooter, Mr. Arigbede believes in adequate recreation and relaxation as a means of balancing the health equation. His philosophy is: “Nobody can make you happy, except yourself”.

2016 Ipoti Day Celebrations

Friday 4 November 2016

18TH IPOTI DAY CELEBRATION-ULEYA GBOGBO OMO IPOTI, ULEYA.
With the honour of HRM Oba Oladipupo Kolade, The Olupoti of Ipoti Ekiti we invite you all to the 18th Ipoti Day celebration, that will take place on the 12th of November, 2016 at the Palace Square, Ipoti Ekiti, from 12 pm under the sponsorship of the Egbe Omo Ipoti, Ado Ekiti Branch, with the presence of the special guests of His Excellency, DR Peter Ayodele Fayose, The Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, DR.Kolapo Olusola, Deputy Governor, Ekiti State, under the chairmanship of Lanre Ogunsuyi, The Honourable Commissioner For Information And Youth Development, Ekiti State while The Chief Launcher of the day is His Eminence, DR. Ramon Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin, the founder of the Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife Osun State with the Imperial presence of HRM Oba (DR) Fredrick EnitiOlorunda Obateru Akinruntan, The Olugbo of Igboland as the Royal Father Of The Day. Expected at the ocassion also are Navy Captain Omoniyi Caleb Olubolade,The Oluomo of Ipoti Ekiti, Evangelist (DR) Yinka Ayefele and Honourable Abiodun Dada, The Chairman Of Ijero Local Government while the royal hostship is of HRM Oba Oladipupo Kolade, The Olupoti Of Ipoti Ekiti. Humbly we plead to say, that, whether or not you have received the invites sent out due to logistic reasons, all the sons and daughters of Ipoti Ekiti, their friends and associates including those who have had or are having or will have links with Ipoti Ekiti by birth, schooling, employment, marriage and other social, spiritual and political engagements are cordially invited by HRM Oba Oladipupo Kolade, The Olupoti of Ipoti Ekiti.
It,s a thing of joy to be counted worthy of identification on a day like this in a big community like Ipoti Ekiti. The origin of setting a day aside as a community day cannot be easily established however, of contemporary reckoning is the annual Ojude Oba in Ijebu Ode, where all the Omo Alares converge in Ijebu Ode to pay homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland and there also they always launch community projects and showcase their rich cultures. Whoever has had the opportunity of visiting Ijebu Ode for that cultural carnival will attest to the fact that Ojude Oba of Ijebu Ode has attained international dimension. If that's far away, not far from us is the Idiroko Day in Ado Ekiti where the sons and daughters of Ado Ekiti converge annually for the development of the town and the showcasing of their cultural values. The community day has also been celebrated severally in Ipoti Ekiti and that of this year will mark the 18th celebrations. In this year,s celebration, awards will be given and chieftaincy titles will also be conferred while the most important aspect of it will be the launch of the N500,000,000.00 for the construction of the ultra modern palatial palace of the Olupoti of Ipoti Ekiti. Only the first phase of a temporary palace for the king has been constructed, now is the time to build the real palace that will be of honour to the greatness of Ipoti Ekiti. With nostalgia we all always refer to the former palace as one of the best of its time in Yorubaland and if our parents of little education and resources could build a palace of such magnificence, we their better educated, exposed and more financially empowered children should be able to build a better palace and this can be confirmed in the unploaded architectural design of the proposed palace-yes, the design is truly of 'ile oba to wo ewa lo bukun'. Building of palaces has always been of communal efforts and this one we must all unite to build by blessing its construction with our financial and materials resources-donations in terms of cash and materials of blocks, sand, cement, furniture and all other building materials will be warmly accepted, appreciated, acknowledged and documented. The one we did about two years ago was of one man, one block, this time around the stake will be higher however, that will be left to the kabiyesi to pronounce at the ocasion. As we welcome those with millions of Naira so also we will appreciate those with the widow's mite. Our students are also expected to participate in the building of the palace for what they do today will become part of the history of tomorrow. To our students, we spend thousands of Naira to buy data to power our Android Phones, a thousand Naira per quarter donation for the building of this palace will be a good idea so that you will be able to make a reference of honour in future as one of those who 'built the palace' Kabiyesi will soon make public the dedicated account and this will also be made available immediately however, those that want to send in their donations before the day can make their intention known here, promptly their requests will be attended to while those with the tipper loads of sand or other materials can move to the site immediately. As we prepare for the day, let us continue to support the Egbe Omo Ipoti, Ado Ekiti Branch who have been working tirelessly behind the scene in ensuring that this year's Ipoti Day will be the best ever organised event. We should also pray for an incident free celebration and journey mercies for all that will attend the event. We can confirm here that our ladies are buying the best of attires for this celebration why our men are also doing their best in outdoing the ladies-when we get there, we will know who is more colourful. Welcome we say to all our visitors from far and near to this year's Ipoti Day celebration- ohun ayo ko ni tan ninu aye wa o.. E kaabooooo...
