It,s a thing of joy to be counted worthy of identification on a day like this in a big community like Ipoti Ekiti. The origin of setting a day aside as a community day cannot be easily established however, of contemporary reckoning is the annual Ojude Oba in Ijebu Ode, where all the Omo Alares converge in Ijebu Ode to pay homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland and there also they always launch community projects and showcase their rich cultures. Whoever has had the opportunity of visiting Ijebu Ode for that cultural carnival will attest to the fact that Ojude Oba of Ijebu Ode has attained international dimension. If that's far away, not far from us is the Idiroko Day in Ado Ekiti where the sons and daughters of Ado Ekiti converge annually for the development of the town and the showcasing of their cultural values. The community day has also been celebrated severally in Ipoti Ekiti and that of this year will mark the 18th celebrations. In this year,s celebration, awards will be given and chieftaincy titles will also be conferred while the most important aspect of it will be the launch of the N500,000,000.00 for the construction of the ultra modern palatial palace of the Olupoti of Ipoti Ekiti. Only the first phase of a temporary palace for the king has been constructed, now is the time to build the real palace that will be of honour to the greatness of Ipoti Ekiti. With nostalgia we all always refer to the former palace as one of the best of its time in Yorubaland and if our parents of little education and resources could build a palace of such magnificence, we their better educated, exposed and more financially empowered children should be able to build a better palace and this can be confirmed in the unploaded architectural design of the proposed palace-yes, the design is truly of 'ile oba to wo ewa lo bukun'. Building of palaces has always been of communal efforts and this one we must all unite to build by blessing its construction with our financial and materials resources-donations in terms of cash and materials of blocks, sand, cement, furniture and all other building materials will be warmly accepted, appreciated, acknowledged and documented. The one we did about two years ago was of one man, one block, this time around the stake will be higher however, that will be left to the kabiyesi to pronounce at the ocasion. As we welcome those with millions of Naira so also we will appreciate those with the widow's mite. Our students are also expected to participate in the building of the palace for what they do today will become part of the history of tomorrow. To our students, we spend thousands of Naira to buy data to power our Android Phones, a thousand Naira per quarter donation for the building of this palace will be a good idea so that you will be able to make a reference of honour in future as one of those who 'built the palace' Kabiyesi will soon make public the dedicated account and this will also be made available immediately however, those that want to send in their donations before the day can make their intention known here, promptly their requests will be attended to while those with the tipper loads of sand or other materials can move to the site immediately. As we prepare for the day, let us continue to support the Egbe Omo Ipoti, Ado Ekiti Branch who have been working tirelessly behind the scene in ensuring that this year's Ipoti Day will be the best ever organised event. We should also pray for an incident free celebration and journey mercies for all that will attend the event. We can confirm here that our ladies are buying the best of attires for this celebration why our men are also doing their best in outdoing the ladies-when we get there, we will know who is more colourful. Welcome we say to all our visitors from far and near to this year's Ipoti Day celebration- ohun ayo ko ni tan ninu aye wa o.. E kaabooooo...
